be in love (with sb) (=być zakochanym (w kimś))
      Lucy knew she was in love.

fall in love (with sb) (=zakochać się (w kimś))
      I fell in love with her the first time we met.

be/fall head over heels in love  (= to be/become very much in love with sb)
After their first date they fell head over heels in love with each other.

I learnt this phrase a year ago while I was watching a film:  

have a crush on sb (=podkochiwać się w kimś)
      Ben has a crush on his teacher.

 To love and be loved is the greatest happines!
